Hyundai boosts Santa Fe production 14% in May

Production at Alabama’s Hyundai plant saw a slight uptick for the month of May, according to a release from the Korean automaker.

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama reported producing 6,101 Santa Fes, a 14.4 percent uptick from the 5,330 built in April.

Sales for the crossover SUV were down 5 percent for the month.

Meanwhile, the company produced 17,939 Sonatas, a 1.9 percent increase from the 17,599 made in April. The sedan saw a 92 percent jump in sales for the month.
